Fortnite latest update: New Throwable Launch Pads, Goo Gun & more

The latest Fortnite update brings a selection of new and returning items to the Island, including the Explosive Goo Gun!

Last week’s v22.10 patch introduced the Cobra DMR and Holo-Chests, and also saw Shifty Shafts transform into the Grim Gables.

Leaks suggested there was a lot more coming, and Tuesday’s hotfix has proved those theories right.

Throwable Launch Pads

Found in Chests, Supply Drops, and on the ground, Throwable Launch Pads are a fresh take on a Fortnite classic.

Chuck one down whenever you need that extra bit of mobility and it will even place the necessary builds to support it, meaning they work in Zero Build too. Throwable Launch Pads are not a Trap item, meaning they will take up one of your five inventory slots.

Explosive Goo Gun

As seen in the trailer at the beginning of Chapter 3 Season 4, the Explosive Goo Gun has arrived in-game. Fire a sticky substance onto enemies, builds, or whatever takes your fancy, and it will explode shortly after.

The Explosive Goo Gun has a limited ammo supply and cannot be refilled, so choose your shots wisely. Find it as floor loot, or in Chests and Supply Drops.

Shield Bubble

Once again, the Shield Bubble is back! Maybe it will hang around a bit longer this time? You know the drill, throw one down to create a protective barrier around your area that players cannot shoot into or out of.

Get one of these handy devices from a Chest or Supply Drop, or grab one off the ground.

Competitive Updates

Both the Throwable Launch Pad and Shield Bubble will be available in Arena and tournament playlists. However, the Explosive Goo Gun will not be included.
