Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 is finally upon us. Servers have only just gone live, but we already have a good idea of what to expect from our next few months on the Battle Royale Island.

Titled “Paradise”, this season was described by Epic Games co-founder Mark Rein as “shiny”. Keep an eye out for the Chrome, it’s effecting gameplay in more ways than one!

So, let’s dive into the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 Patch Notes and see what’s new.

  • EvoChrome Shotgun

  • EvoChrome Burst Rifle

  • Chrome Splash

  • Port-A-Bunker

You can pick up these new weapons from special Chrome Chests.

What’s unique about Chrome weapons? Their rarity will increase as you deal damage, all the way from Uncommon to Mythic!

Other Loot

  • Sidearm Pistol

  • Prime Shotgun

  • Lever Action Shotgun

  • Rapid Fire SMG

  • Suppressed Submachine Gun

So, it looks like the Pump Shotgun will remain exclusive to Late Game Arena for now. The Striker Pump, Auto Shotgun, Two-Shot Shotgun, Stinger SMG and Burst AR all appear to be vaulted.

Additionally, the damage stats and headshot multipliers for many Snipers has been buffed. This means that one-shot kills are possible again.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 Map Changes

Cloudy Condos Fortnite

Perhaps the biggest Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 map changes are the new Herald’s Sanctum POI and floating locations.

Made almost entirely of Chrome, Herald’s Sanctum is a brand-new POI found near The Sanctuary. It’s littered with loot and the perfect place to grab some of the Chrome weapons.

Other existing drop spots, including Cloudy Condos (formerly Condo Canyon), are now hovering above the ground thanks to large hot air balloons. Use ziplines and new D-Launcher devices to take your looting game to a whole different level.

New Vault Keys

You can now find Keys throughout the Island, when you collect them, a selection of loot vaults will be revealed on your map. Use one key to access Low-Security Vaults, or two to get into a High-Security Vault.

This is an easy way to upgrade your loot and get hold of the new items and Chrome weapons.

Use Slide Kicks in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4

Sliding in Fortnite

A new mechanic for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 is the ability to kick opponents when sliding.

Sliding was introduced at the beginning of Chapter 3 and already, Fortnite wouldn’t feel the same without it. But Epic has more tricks up its sleeve!

Now, if you slide into an enemy, you’ll knock them back. This could come in handy in fights, confusing your foes long enough to get a high damage shot away.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 Victory Umbrella

A new season means a new Umbrella. The Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 Victory Umbrella is dripping with Chrome!
