Take to the skies in Fortnite Chapter 3 with the Flying Objects event.

Two of Fortnite’s most popular items have been unvaulted for a limited time only.

Following the return of Junk Rifts in an update earlier this week, another hotfix has pushed yet more changes live. UFOs and Impulse Grenades will be in-game for the next couple of days for the Flying Objects Wild Weekend.

UFOs in Fortnite Season 3

Technically called Saucers, these unique vehicles are more than just a speedy mode of transport. Previously in-game for the alien-themed seventh season of Chapter 2, UFOs have several high-tech abilities.

Along with a boost function similar to Choppas, UFOs have special cannons which can be charged to shoot energy balls, which deal damage on impact and knock opponents back. They also feature a tractor beam, perfect for abducting players, wildlife, and objects.

Find them unoccupied at certain POIs across the Island. Alternatively, you can shoot one out of the air, wait for its health to regen, and then hop in and hit launch.

Impulse Grenades

Ever since Shockwave Grenades were introduced to Fortnite, Impulses haven’t had much of a look-in. They are less powerful than Shockwaves and don’t break builds.

However, Epic did give Impulse Grenades a slight buff ahead of this Wild Weekend. According to leaker @HYPEX, their radius has been increased by 20% and the launch amount by 12%.

This means Impulses should now be a bit easier to use, plus they’ll also send you a little further.

Grab them from Chests, Supply Drops, or as floor loot.

Both Saucers and Impulse Grenades have only been added to standard Battle Royale and Zero Build Playlists. Neither will be included in competitive game modes or tournaments.

This fun Wild Weekend sets us up for next week’s long-awaited v21.40 update. It’s been nearly a whole month since the last full Fortnite patch, so fans are desperate for something big.

Luckily, we already know it’s a special one. Epic has teased the upcoming Dragon Ball collaboration to begin August 16, which should be the same day!
