Fray is one of the most experienced and well established Fortnite Professional Players in the European Region.
Some of his best achievements include qualifying for multiple FNCS Grand Finals, Cash Cup Top 10s, and 5th at DreamHack Open Winter LAN in 2022.

Here are some of the best questions the community had to ask.

How do you focus, and what goes through your mind before a tournament?

Before every tournament, I already know everything I'm going to do.
Here are some of the most important things you should focus on. Know where you want to land and study your drop spot by finding all the floor loot and chest spawns. Know the perfect drop for your POI by using a good drop map, and make sure you practiced different fighting scenarios at your drop spot.

The day of a tournament, I VOD review players that had a good placement the week before to have an idea of what they did to win and see what I can learn from them. After that, I play forty minutes of KovaaK's Aim Trainer, free build in creative, play piece control and aim maps, and finally 1v1s.

How can I improve awareness in end game?

One of the most critical things is playing on a good layer; you don't want to play on low ground too much to avoid getting jumped on from people looking for a refresh.
Choosing a good mid-ground layer and having enough materials to full tarp until the final zone is essential. Focus on staying ahead of zones as much as possible, look around you, and rely on sounds to increase awareness.

If you get into a fight, and you don't need the extra loot, don't fifty-fifty; edit out of your tarp or box, and find a new layer to continue playing for the win.

In Duos, make sure you choose one person to play heal-off before the end game, the other member of the duo should focus on getting to the final zone and going for eliminations once the zone closes, while the other member of the duo plays the heal-off.

How are you preparing for FNCS?

I've been playing a lot of Noble Scrims as they help with fixing your mistakes and improving in end game.
It's important to play scrims as you would play a tournament and VOD review games to incorporate the best team's strategies in your own game plan.

How do you deal with pressure and build up confidence while playing?

Lack of confidence is an issue that a lot of people have to deal with.
A good way to build up confidence is playing a lot of scrims with your duo partner; the more I practice and the more mistakes I know we already fixed, the more confident I am in my game plan.

It's highly important to play a lot of games to be aware of different situations that you can end up in while playing a tournament.
If you lack in confidence with fighting. You can improve by playing Arena and getting in as many fights as possible, or play 1v1s in creative.

Every Pro deals with pressure, especially during a big event like FNCS Grand Finals.
Going into the tournament, being focused is essential, try not to push too much pressure on yourself. Go off of what you learned during practice, don't set too many expectations for yourself, and focus on improving week by week.

What are the most important fundamentals of fighting?

Having good peaks and playing the right angles is the most important thing for one on one fighting, make sure you can get a shot off without getting hit and don't open unnecessary edits.

In Duos it's really important to know how to play together, have good communication and fight together.
Try to focus on the same opponent rather than both 1v1ing a member of the opposing duo.

Working on your aim is also a crucial part of the game; you can have the fastest mechanics in the world but hitting your shot is what counts.
Make sure to play aim maps and always warm up your aim before a tournament.

Any final considerations?

It's extremely important to realize that becoming a Pro isn't easy, and it's not for everyone.
You shouldn't put all the energy and time you have into playing the game, it's important to still focus on school and think about your future.
