For better or worse, the stretched resolution Fortnite bug has been fixed, so it’s back to native for everyone.
There were always going to be problems following the major Fortnite v12.00 update, but one particular glitch especially caught the attention of the competitive community. By performing a few simple steps, players were able to put their game into stretched resolution.
Earlier on in Fortnite history, stretched res was perfectly legal, and something that many pros and streamers decided to take advantage of. Adopters of the setting say that it improves the field of view, makes shots easier to hit and leads to an overall smoother experience.
nooo.. I was looking forward to try stretched res once I came home and now they patched it a few hours before ??

However, back in April 2019 it was announced that Epic Games would be banning stretches res in both Arena mode and tournaments. Ever since then players have been asking for it to come back, or alternatively to be given an FOV slider as an alternative.
With last week’s update, things changed, and some people got their hopes up that they may get to use their beloved resolution once more. But knowing that this was nothing more than a glitch, they should perhaps have been less optimistic.
In a small patch released on Tuesday, the developers have fixed the bug, and it is no longer possible to use stretched resolution. As of yet, Epic have made no comment, but it is clearly not something that they want in Fortnite.
