Fortnite, the popular battle royale game from Epic Games, is finally adding a ranked mode for players who want to test their skills and climb the ladder. The ranked mode will be available in both standard Battle Royale and Zero Build modes and will run until the end of Chapter 4 Season 3 later this summer.

Here is everything you need to know about Fortnite Ranked Play Mode.

What is Fortnite Ranked Play Mode

What is Fortnite Ranked Play Mode

Fortnite ranked play is a new gameplay mode that allows players to test their skills and climb the rank ladder. Everyone begins at Bronze rank and can go up the ranks like this: Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Elite, Champion, and Unreal. There are three sub-ranks for each rank from Bronze to Diamond, but only one sub-rank for Elite, Champion, and Unreal.

Your past match results and your first Ranked Battle Royale and Ranked Zero Build match results will determine your initial Battle Royale rank and Zero Build rank in Season Zero. You’ll only have to play one Ranked match for each mode to see your rank.

When you make it to Unreal, you’ll stay there for the rest of the Ranked Season. This means you won’t lose your rank, and you won’t drop to previous ranks for the rest of the Season no matter how you do. But you’re not done when you reach Unreal. No sir! You’ll also have a number that tells you your rank among Unreal players all over the world.

How Can You Rank Up in Fortnite Ranked Play

Your Fortnite rank will increase or decrease based on the following benchmarks:

  • Match placement
  • Number of eliminations both by individual and by team
  • Eliminations later in the match will count more than eliminations earlier in the match
  • Ranks of opposing players eliminated will be taken into account

Teams will be viewed as one thing — all team members will have the same progress based on team eliminations and team placement calculated at the end of a match.

Your team’s rank will depend on the highest-ranked player on the team. For example, if a team includes Gold I and Silver I players, they’ll matchmake as a Gold I team and play against teams with comparable ranks.

How to Access Ranked Mode

You can play ranked mode after the Fortnite v24.40 patch arrives this Tuesday, May 16. It’s in the game mode menu. You can access it by choosing it from the game mode menu. There are two options: Battle Royale Ranked and Zero Build Ranked. The former lets you rank up in solos, duos, or squads, while the latter only lets you rank up in duos.

What are the Rewards

Ranked mode will also give you special cosmetic rewards through Ranked Urgent Quests, which you have to finish in a single match. The Burn Bright emote is the final reward of Ranked Season Zero. You can also display your rank emblem on your profile and in-game.

Why You Should Play Fortnite Ranked Mode

Ranked mode is a great way to challenge yourself and improve your skills in Fortnite. You can also compete with other players who have similar skill levels and goals. Ranked mode is also a way to earn recognition and respect from the Fortnite community. You might even get noticed by professional teams or streamers if you perform well in ranked mode.

Ranked mode is also a way to experience a different style of gameplay in Fortnite. In standard Battle Royale mode, you can build structures and edit them to your advantage. In Zero Build mode, you can only use weapons and items that you find or loot. This means you have to rely more on your aim, positioning, and strategy.
