Ranked modes seem to be all the rage in first-person shooters recently. The latest game to possibly join the ranks of ranked matches is Fortnite. If a recent video is to be believed, players will get a chance to join the competition to increase their rank like many other games have been doing over the years. Here's what Epic Games had to say about a Fortnite Ranked Mode.

What to Expect in the Fortnite Ranked Mode

While it's too early to really say exactly what a Fortnite ranked mode may look like, we can gleam details from the announcement post. A tweet from the official Fortnite Twitter account featured a short video showing new emblems. It's assumed the eight icons correspond to the eight ranks players can earn in the battle royale game. One such symbol included a diamond which could mean players can at least be able to earn a diamond rank.

The post came with mysterious text as well that eluded to Fortnite possibly getting a ranked match type. Players will soon be able to gain a Victory Royale in a new way by earning ranks by completing matches.

When is Fortnite Ranked Mode starting?

No official release date has been announced for a Fortnite Ranked Mode. With Chapter 4, Season 3 coming soon, it could appear as early as this summer. However, with only a tease from Epic Games and no official announcement, it's tough to say. With rumors pointing to Chapter 5 launching at the end of 2023 in December, Fortnite Ranked Mode could release then.

Again, all of this is not confirmed by Epic Games. What is known is that players will have a new way to play in a ranked mode in the game soon.

If Fortnite is getting a ranked mode, it will join other battle royale games including Valorant, Call of Duty, and Apex Legends. If you want to keep track of Fortnite stats you can check out our official Fortnite Stat Tracker for leaderboards and player ranks.
