The making of Zagou: The rising star from Asia

Zagou is a Japanese Fortnite professional player representing ALBA E-Sports SAGA, an Asian organization. His story is exciting: since he was a child, he has always had a passion for games, and his only goal was to earn money through them.

While attending junior high school, while chatting with some of his friends, one of them invited him to play Fortnite. He had never played FPS or TPS until he started attending the eighth grade, right when he started playing Fortnite.

At the start, Zagou thought he had no talent for the game because he could not build, and his aim could have been better. However, he was determined not to lose to his friends, so he started practising. He got to that point where he could beat his friends, and that's when his goal became to keep improving to beat anyone, and even before that happened, he already knew he wanted to become a professional Fortnite player.

Zagou then decided to put in the hard work to achieve this goal, and that is when he began to study the best Fortnite players to learn from them. He also began to train his aim, doing aim practice every day and training in creative by doing free-build.

His competitive career began in late 2021, but despite this, he still established himself among the best in his region. One of his first significant achievements is a top 16 in the FNCS Grand Royale 2021.

He managed to win his first tournament in January 2022, only three months after his debut on the scene. His main characteristic is the mentality that sets him apart from anyone. Zagou manages to do well in every mode: solo, duo or trio.

During 2022 he won several tournaments, mainly the cash cup, but with Merem, he also won the FNCS Chapter 3 Season 3 duo. In an interview, Zagou admitted that he is ALBA helped him so much in this adventure, supporting him in every aspect.

Zagou's last appearance was at the 2022 FNCS Invitational held a few weeks ago in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Asian duo stunned spectators by managing to clutch a pair of end games.
