This past weekend saw the thrilling conclusion of the Chapter 3 Season 2 FNCS Finals. The official broadcast was back in-person and there was no shortage of hype moments to enjoy.

Of course, following so many matches across multiple regions can be tough, even for the most diehard competitive Fortnite fan. Luckily we’ve got you covered with a speedy breakdown of all the key details from both Europe and NA East.

EU

Champions Aqua and Veno made every late game count. The insane Command Cavern loot, coupled with Veno’s incredible damage stats and Aqua’s World Cup winning IQ saw them pick up three Victory Royales, a 2ndplace, a 3rd place, and a 4th place, plus another two finishes inside the top 10.

TaySon and Chapix were hot on their heals throughout, but a couple of silly mistakes cost them a those extra points that could have made the difference. TaySon took to Twitter to say this is the season he’s put least effort into Fortnite, and hopes for something he can enjoy grinding next time around.

Elsewhere in the top 5, Th0masHD and trippernn (3rd) and Kami and Setty (5th) played the consistency game, however a lack of any real pop off matches and a couple of unfortunate early deaths put the Pickaxe of Champions just out of reach.

Undoubtedly one of the strongest performances we’ve seen from a team contested off spawn every match came from Merstach and Malibuca, who finished 4th. They ended the day with the most eliminations of anyone, and have already confirmed that they will never back down from a drop spot.

Special shoutout to last season’s winners, Hen and Queasy for a monumental comeback. Having found themselves sitting 41st on the leaderboards after Day 1, they pulled off two VRs and a second place on Sunday, flying up to 8th and securing $40,000.

NAE

While EU Finals came down to the wire, NAE was quite the opposite. Seven matches in, Peterbot and Bylah had an almost uncatchable lead, having placed inside the top 5 in six of them. This included a few jaw-dropping high-kill solo clutches. If they somehow weren’t on your radar, they are now!

Cold and Cented adapted beautifully upon learning that their Fortress drop was contested, and created a solid plan that allowed them to consistently reach late game. This is now Cented’s fifth FNCS silver medal… Surely a win is coming this year?

Having been victorious together in C2:S8 FNCS Trios, the Grand Royale, and last season’s FNCS, it was about time Bugha and Mero slipped up. Except they didn’t! Bugha said that this was the worst they’ve ever played, yet they still managed third place, missing out on second only to a tiebreaker. A bountiful supply of Launch Pads from Chonkers and Butter Barn had them regularly surviving deep into matches, though they weren’t quite as prolific in the elimination department as usual.

Two of my predictions to do well, Edgey and Acorn (4th) and Khanada and Ajerss (5th) started a little slowly but came out all guns blazing on Day 2. Meanwhile, the fan favorite NRG duo of Clix and Deyy struggled to find any real footing, ending the tournament in a disappointing 35th.
