Well, that was quick! The first FNCS of Chapter 3 wraps up today and some region’s winners have already been crowned.
Epic Games mysteriously condensed the FNCS format this season, meaning less than three weeks between Qualifier 1 and Finals. However, there was still time for plenty of hype moments, and with a total prize pool of over $3,000,000, the victors will be far from disappointed.
This was also the debut of the new Match Point system, in which a team can end the tournament early by reaching 500 points and earning 3 Victory Royales. After all 12 matches, Australian Open champs Basil and Jace came out on top again in OCE, grabbing 3 VRs and coming up just one point short of the threshold – so it’s sort of possible with a perfect match history, but highly unlikely to happen in any of the bigger regions.
The first few pairs of Champions have already been discovered, stay tuned throughout the day as this post will be updated with all the latest results.
