Check out the details of upcoming Cash Cups and tournaments for Fortnite Chapter 3.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 is live, and despite a few server troubles, the initial reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. Epic has reported that this is “by far the most players we’ve ever seen at the launch of a season”.

While there’s plenty of exciting content to enjoy, a new map to explore and fun to be had, some players are already planning out their drop spots for the first tournaments. Here’s a breakdown of everything we know about competitive so far:

Firstly, Arena hype has been reset, so you’re free to start the grind to champs from day one! However, it has been confirmed by the developers that future seasons will still have an Arena Preseason.

As hinted at in the recent Grand Royale Hype Hour announcement, there will be many opportunities to compete in 2022, for all skill levels.

Duos

Starting January 10, there will be weekly Duos Cash Cups for Champion Division players, with separate Duos Hype Cups running simultaneously for Contender and Open Division. Each of these tournaments will occur across two rounds. Round 1 happens on the Monday, and the top 50 Duos will advance to Round 2 on Wednesday.

Trios

From January 14, Champion, Contender and Open Division Trios Hype Cups will take place every Friday. For Trios there is only one round, and there are no cash prizes available.

Solos

Weekends are for Solos. Champion Cash Cups and Contender and Open Division Hype Cups kick off January 15. Again, these are two rounds, with the top 100 players from Saturday moving onto Round 2 on the Sunday.

FNCS

Though an exact date is yet to be announced, an Epic Games blog post previously revealed that Chapter 3 Season 1 FNCS will begin in February 2022. This gives you a couple of months’ time to find the perfect Duo and get practicing.

Frosty Frenzy

If you can’t wait until January for your first dose of competitive action, you may be in luck. While nothing official has been released, Fortnite has hosted a huge Winter Royale-style event three years in a row.

During the summer, a leaked Loading Screen suggested that Frosty Frenzy would be returning as a Duos tournament for 2021. The rumoured date was December 13 which is just over a week away, so keep your eyes peeled for more info.
