Prepare to fight. Fortnite Chapter 2 is set to draw to a close with another blockbuster live event.

Theories that our current season may be the final instalment of Fortnite Chapter 2 have been circulating for months now, but things really ramped up following recent leaks. Now though, it’s time to make it official!

On Wednesday, Epic Games broke the exciting news to fans with a tweet saying simply, “Welcome to the beginning of The End” and showing a trailer for the Chapter 2 Finale. They also released a blog post with further details on the event.

Like its namesake from the conclusion of Season X, “The End” will be a climactic in-game live event. Once again this will be an interactive affair, with players joining forces to take on the Cube Queen in a reality changing battle.

The End is a one-time only event and begins at 4 PM ET on December 4. This means that you only have one shot at seeing it, no replays or encores. As always, Epic has recommended loading up Fortnite early to avoid missing out.

As a reward for attending this historic occasion, everyone who takes part in The End experience will unlock a memento Loading Screen and Wrap.

Power Leveling & Downtime

Due to Season 8 finishing a day early, Epic is giving all players who log in before the end of the season a bonus 225,000 XP. You will also need to complete any remaining Quests, finalize your Toona Fish customizations and spend any excess Battle Stars.

To help you climb those last few levels, there will be a Power Leveling Weekend running from November 26 at 7 PM ET until November 29 at 7 AM ET.

Though not mentioned in the official blog post, it is expected that there could be multiple days of downtime following the finale event similar to the Black Hole. If this is the case we will hopefully get a countdown to Chapter 3 rather than having to guess, but it will be good for everyone to have a bit of a break.

See you on the other side!
