This latest connection to King Midas further adds to the heavily hinted gold theme for Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 2, but what does it mean?
After the official Fortnite Twitter account dropped the most recent teaser image, the community quickly pieced together the cryptic lettering from previous teasers. When combined, the letters spell out “Midas”, a king famous in Greek mythology for being able to turn anything he touched to gold. Check out the teaser images below courtesy of @FNBRHQ.
Further on from this, a bit of digging from @FNBRHQ also revealed just how closely the “Redacted” Bunker landmark in-game resembles the tomb of King Midas.

People are therefore also guessing that the Fortnite Oro skin is supposed to represent King Midas himself. This is significant as it indicates that Oro could potentially be inside the bunker, perhaps trying to escape or even planning something big.
With the sheer amount of hints pointing towards the gold theme of this next season, it almost seems like there has to be more than a gold Oro skin for tier 100 on the Battle Pass. Something like the rumoured gold material, or maybe an ability to mine gold coins to spend at vending machines could well be coming.
