Sometimes in Fortnite, things just don’t go your way. But at least Scoped went out on his own terms… sort of?

With the drastically reduced variety of loot and crazy items available in Chapter 2, we are seeing a lot less of the insane eliminations that would regularly crop up in previous seasons. Other than the odd rocket ride special, most kills either come down to a box fight or someone sniping you from 200m away in a bush.

However, during a recent pro Solo scrim, Liquid star “Chap” took out controller scrimma “Scoped” in a pretty spectacular style. The two players ran into each other by the water surrounding the “Eye Land”.

After hitting Chap hard with the Assault Rifle, Scoped threw some Grenades over to keep the pressure on. At the same time, Chap was desperately trying to use his Harpoon Gun to reel in a Shield Potion on the ground next to his enemy. On the third attempt however, Chap’s Harpoon instead connected with Scoped, pulling him in to be exploded by his own nades.

Chap joked afterwards “Scoped you may have aim assist but I have brain assist bro, absolutely calculated”. At best it can go down as an accidental 200IQ play, but it was hilarious to watch nonetheless.

Above is Scoped’s perspective of the engagement, which if anything is even better. Things go from 0-100 real quick. He called it “literally the most unlucky thing ever”, which to be fair, probably isn’t too far off. P.S. Shoutout to Assault in the background.
