It’s been a long time coming… like, a really long time, but it looks like Fortnite update v11.40 will be available very soon.
Fans have been growing restless, streamers have been turning to other games, and pros have spent so much time in box fights that they won’t recognize the actual map. Aside from the Star Wars event and a bit of snow, Fortnite has had almost zero content changes this season, but hopefully, that’s about to change.
Although the patch has not been officially announced, the Fortnite Competitive Twitter account has just posted that the Platform Cash Cups for OCE and Asia will be postponed until Monday. This has happened multiple times in the past when updates are released as the times clash with downtime. As we already knew that the update would be coming this week, this pretty much confirms it.
We will be rescheduling this week's Platform Cash Cup to Monday, January 20th for the OCE and ASIA server regions.

Full details are updated within the in-game compete tab.
Based on previous updates and the timing of the Cash Cups, this means that we can probably expect downtime to begin around 9am UTC on Wednesday. What the patch will contain we don’t yet know, but the community will be excited to see some changes. Stay tuned and we’ll be sure to keep you up to date!
