In a recent announcement, weekly cash cups and platform specific tournaments will be extended to mid-december
Epic Games recently tweeted the news through their competitive Twitter page
We are extending both the weekly Platform Cash Cups and the weekly Contender Cash Cups until December 19th. With this, we'll also be adjusting prize pools for these events starting tomorrow, November 13th.

Previously, scoring inside of the money was an incredibly difficult task. NA-East players had to score within the top 25 to see a penny. NA-West was even harder, only 10 people would secure the bag. With this update, that threshold is basically tripled across the board. NA-East users now need to place top 75 while NA-West is top 30. The requirements are even less stringent for EU - where 100 players score in the money
The solo contender cash cup, which takes place on Thursdays saw similar scaling. Europe’s prize structure is listed below
Additionally, scoring within the top 100 on NA-East or top 50 on NA-West will pay handsomely
Today was the first platform specific tournament under the new prizing structure. Sentinels player and solo World Cup winner Bugha didn’t waste any time, banking a 2nd place finish, good for $1,800

More money is obviously a good change, I don’t think anyone would dispute that. The weekly tournaments have been quite stale due to low incentives to play coupled with the top heavy structure. Now that more people have a reasonable shot at seeing a reward for their efforts, lobbies should be popping and end-games should be stacked once again
