TSM announced their Fortnite team would be receiving a substantial cut. The result? HighDistortion, Kaysid, Wintrrz & ProdigyAces all left orgless
With a casual Thursday announcement, TSM downsized their Fortnite team by cutting four of their earlier signings.
Today, we are sad to announce the departures of @TSM_ProdigyAces, @TSMKaysid, @Wintrrzs, and @HighDistortion.

We wish them nothing but the best in their future endeavors. Thank you for everything.

HighDistortion is one of Fortnite’s largest content creators - emassing over 1.6 million followers on Twitch. Despite this, a “small contract dispute” according to his words is what lead to a break up with the organization.
Kaysid, Wintrrz, and ProdigyAces - some of TSM’s first recruits in the genre, were also caught in the fire. TSM’s blog post leaves the reason for their collective release to interpretation.
In my opinion, TSM must take these steps in an effort to move forward with new talent. Recent signings Emad and Mackwood, two competitive beasts that dominate the current meta, comes with additional salary demands. It has to come from somewhere - that’s just how the world works.
At the end of the day, TSM still has some of the largest creators in the game. The dynamic trio - Myth, Hamlinz, and Daequan have a combined Twitch following exceeding 11 million. I’m sure they aren’t too worried about dropping weight and shifting focus towards current top content creators and competitive players.
