A new Fortnite exploit allows you to avoid fall damage by using the new Bubble Shield.
Fall Damage in Season X is a lot more menacing than it was in some of the other recent seasons. Epic removed the Flint Knock, Shadow Bombs, and Glider Re-Deploy for Season 10, which means there aren't very many ways to catch yourself if your structure gets destroyed.
Genshadow15 on Reddit found a new strategy that involves using the Bubble Shield as protection. Those who played Fortnite during Season 7 may remember this one, as a very similar exploit existed with the Snowman.
New trick to take no fall damage from r/FortNiteBR
If you place the Bubble Shield underneath your player and then edit or destroy the piece on which you're standing, the hub of the shield will be under your player.
Falling with this shield particle will cancel any fall damage you might take.
This strategy will be difficult to pull off if you're in the middle of a build battle, but it will work if you're in a pinch and need to bail.
