Have you noticed more pro players and streamers landing at Retail Row during their competitive matches? There's a reason for that: it's one of the best landing spots in Fortnite.

Fortnite is a game that's all about RNG. You can land uncontested in a perfect location, open a dozen chests, and still walk away with a gray AK and no shields.

Competitive players notice this more than anyone. The name of the game is lasting until the end, so tournament players don't usually push opponents to improve their own kit.

After the 10.10 update, though, a few professional players found a surefire way to make it to mid-game with top-tier loot.

Their secret? The zombies in Retail Row.

The Retail Loot Pool

At first glance, it seems like the addition of Retail Row and the accompanying zombies would be a nightmare for the competitive Fortnite scene. A horde of zombies attack players who are unlucky enough to be stuck in a structure while opponents shoot them from outside of the bubble.

Pro players and streamers Mongraal, Mitr0, and BenjyFishy saw this area as a hidden gem, however, as you can see from their loot pool above.

Killing zombies gives you shield and destroying the zombie spawner drops legendary gear.

This means that teams who win Retail Row walk away with full shield for free, all of the loot in the location, and legendary loot from the zombie spawners.

Of course, the trio was contested at Retail nearly every match. Since these players are some of the best in the world, they handled the competition and moved on with some of the best loot in Fortnite.

When players like Bugha and Tfue saw this post, they immediately started changing their landing spots. Both squads started to land at Retail Row for a chunk of their qualifying matches the same day and walked away with similar inventories.

Most of you out there aren't the best players in the world, but landing at Retail Row might grant you some free Arena points if you play it correctly.
