We might have a break in the Fortnite Season 9 event case now that a player on the Fortnite subreddit has uncovered a cage hiding under Pressure Plant.

The Fortnite Season 9 event updates have been slowing in the past few weeks. We saw the preparation and aftermath of a monster breaking free from Polar Peak, then saw the monster swimming around the map with the castle from Polar on its back.

After that, there's been a bit of a lull as far as event updates go. We've heard some news of the event from leaked game files - naming it Cattus - but that's about it.

Thankfully, Fortnite has an avid fan base that will find anything that the developers leave behind in the game. Daegos_ on Reddit was looking around for clues and might have found something hiding under Pressure Plant.

A cage for the monster? from r/FortNiteBR

Pressure Plant was one of the new locations added to Season 9 and was put in place after the volcanic eruption that vaulted us into the future. It was a central area to the story of Season 8, so it makes sense that it might be the location that sparks - or ends - the Season 9 event as well.

We as players miss a lot between updates. For instance, we didn't actually see the monster break out of Polar Peak. We saw the eye, then the aftermath and the footprints.

The monster still hasn't fully revealed itself to us. We've only seen it swimming through the ocean on the side of the Fortnite map.

It could be possible, then, that the Fortnite government - the same people investigating Kevin and uncovering the Vault - would be able to capture the monster and put it in a cage while our games update.

The monster can then burst from the cage and cause havoc on the Fortnite map.

It's even possible that we'll play a role in all of this. The doors can't be destroyed as of this writing on June 25, but it's possible that Epic may put another target in our path - similar to the dig sites in Season 8.

Until we know more, we'll just have to wait and see.
