Epic games removed the Boom Bow from the Team Rumble LTM on June 11. Competitive players wonder why it's still in Arena and tournament modes.

The Boom Bow is one of the more hotly debated weapons in Fortnite right now. It's a fun weapon to use, but devastating when put in the hands of a skilled player during the late-game in a competitive match.

The bow does 100 damage to a player if it lands near them, meaning you don't even have to hit your shots to kill someone with 100HP.

Epic saw that this was a problem in their Team Rumble LTM. Players respawn in this mode with 100HP, meaning a Boom Bow shot will kill them. In response, they disabled the weapon in that mode on June 11.

The competitive community took to Twitter and Reddit to voice their thoughts about the recent changes to the least competitive game mode in Fortnite.

One player posted a concise rebuttal on the r/FortniteCompetitive subreddit: "Players spawn with 100hp in Arena - please remove the Boom Bow thanks."

The top-voted comment on the thread said "Just for the record, when players use the vans they respawn with 100 hp also. Bow definitely gotta go."

Epic Games seems dedicated to keeping the traditional and competitive loot pools the same - as evidenced by their tweak and reinstatement of the Storm Flip item. The Boom Bow is one of the weapons competitive players want out of their favorite mode.

To be fair, it makes a bit more sense to remove the Boom Bow from Team Rumble. A player with the Boom Bow keeps it the whole match in Team Rumble, and the fact that it takes shotgun ammo means they have a nearly unlimited supply of rounds.

Still, a lot of the players running around in late-game Arena matches don't have 200HP either, and many have less than 100.

Is taking the Boom Bow out of competitive Fortnite a good idea? Probably. Will Epic do it? Almost certainly not.
