Epic Games confirms that the patch for v7.40 will be released February 13.

Many Fortnite players are eagerly awaiting the v7.40 patch that is set to drop this week. The patch will come with a batch of new challenges for outfit variants, weapon skins, and more.

What has players even more excited, though, is the changes that Epic Games confirmed on Reddit yesterday. These include deagle, plane, and rocket nerfs as well as a change to ziplines that allows you to interact with them instead of landing on them when you don't want to.

Many players thought that this patch was coming today. Tuesday is the traditional patch day for Fortnite and a lot of other games, but it's still not here.

Fortunately, we don't have to wait another week for the last patch of Season 7. Epic Games PR Manager Nick Chester confirmed that the patch would be dropping on Wednesday, February 13.

We can expect the downtime to start tomorrow morning and will be able to view the patch notes when they go live.

The crossbow will be making its return alongside a new Infantry Rifle. The crossbow has been in and out of the game with each zombie event, but we'll have to see if this one is a bit different now that it's focused on players-only again.

Patch days are always ripe with surprise changes, new weapons, and a list of some leaked cosmetics, so make sure to stay tuned to @FortniteTracker on Twitter so you can stay up to date with all of the new additions.
