Fortnite joins Esports World Cup 2024!

The Esports World Cup is part of Saudi Arabia's National Gaming and Esports Strategy. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said: "The Esports World Cup marks another milestone in Saudi Arabia's journey to become a global gaming and esports hub. This competition will enhance our progress towards achieving the goals of Vision 2030 by diversifying the economy, boosting tourism, creating jobs and providing world-class entertainment for citizens, residents and visitors".

Previously, titles such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Starcraft II, Counter-Strike 2, Honor of Kings, PUBG Battlegrounds, PUBG Mobile, Overwatch 2 and Dota 2 have already been confirmed for the 2024 Esports World Cup.

The 2024 Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia has added another action-packed game to its line-up: Fortnite.

In a brief announcement, the Esports World Cup Foundation, which organises the event, revealed plans to introduce a new competitive UEFN island specifically for the multi-sport extravaganza. However, the organisation has yet to provide further details.

Additionally, the Esports World Cup has clarified that its Fortnite tournament is independent of Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite.

"This event is not sponsored, endorsed, or affiliated with Epic Games, Inc. Player information shared for this event will be managed by the event organiser, not Epic Games," the statement reads.

The Fortnite Championship Series is currently underway, with tournaments taking place in different regions. It is not yet known if this series will overlap with the Esports World Cup.
