Fortnite Competitive 2024 Roadmap! All you need to know about the FNCS

The Fortnite Champion Series is back in the spotlight for 2024, promising an action-packed year of intense competition and a staggering prize pool of over $7 million. As the Fortnite community eagerly awaits the unveiling of Epic Games' plans, here's a comprehensive breakdown of what the 2024 FNCS has in store.

FNCS Format

To participate in FNCS Majors 1, 2, and 3, you and your teammate must reach Platinum I status in Ranked Battle Royale. Once you've reached Platinum I, you'll be eligible to join the Open Qualifier queue, marking the beginning of your FNCS journey.

Here's a detailed overview of the FNCS 2024 Major format, from the initial Open Qualifiers to the culminating Grand Finals.

Open Qualifiers

• Three-hour session
• Ten-match limit
• Four rounds of competition (NAC and EU) / Three rounds of competition (all other regions)
• Duos earn points based on eliminations, placements, and mid-game goals.
• The top 2,000 teams (NAC/EU) and 1,000 teams (all other regions) will advance to the second round.
• The top 1,000 teams (NAC/EU) and the top 250 teams (all other regions) advance to Round 3.
• The top 250 teams (NAC/EU only) advance to Round 4.
• Based on the Series Points Leaderboard, the top duos will advance to the Upper or Lower Semifinals.

Semi-Finals (Upper)

Round 1

• Teams finishing between 1st and 50th on the Series Points Leaderboard will qualify for the Upper Semifinals, which will consist of five set lobby matches.
• It will be played over three days.
• Each winning duo (five in total) will advance to the Grand Final of that Major.
• Teams ranked between 6th and 25th after five matches will advance to the Upper Semifinals Round 2.
• Teams placed between 25th and 50th will advance to the Lower Semi-Finals.

Round 2

• Five set lobby matches.
• Each winning duo (five in total) will advance to the Grand Final of that major.
• Teams placed between 6th and 25th will advance to the Upper Semi-Finals Round 3.
• Teams placed between 26th and 50th will advance to the Lower Semi-final Round 3.

Round 3

• Three set-lobby matches.
• Teams that finish between 1st and 25th will advance to that Major's Grand Finals.

FNCS 2024 Semi-Finals (Lower)

Round 1

• Teams that finish between 51st and 250th on the Series Points Leaderboard qualify for the Lower Semifinals, which consist of ten open lobby matches.
• It will take place over three days.
• Duos that place between 1st and 30th will advance to the Upper Semifinals Round 2.
• Duos placed between 31st and 205th will advance to the Lower Semifinals Round 2.
• Duos that finish below 205th will be eliminated from the competition.

Round 2

• Ten open lobby matches.
• Duos that place between 1st and 30th will advance to the Upper Semifinals Round 3.
• Duos that finish below 30th will be eliminated from the competition.

Round 3

• Three set lobby matches.
• Teams ranked between 1st and 15th will advance to the Grand Final of that major.
• All teams that finish below 15th will be eliminated from the competition.

Grand Final

• The top 50 duos from each region's semi-finals will advance to the Grand Final.
• Two days of competition.
• Six games per day.
• Eliminations are worth 1.5x points on the second day.
• The top duos based on cumulative points will qualify for the FNCS Global Championship 2024.
