The trailer offers a tantalizing look at the innovative features and mechanics that have been seamlessly integrated into the game.

Curious about what's in store in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1? Fear not, we've got all the details you need to navigate the exciting developments before you dive into the game.

New map

In Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1, players are treated to an exhilarating exploration of a brand new map. This dynamic terrain encompasses a variety of biomes, including the enchanting Boreal Forest, the rugged Chaparral, the frosty Boreal Tundra, the expansive Grasslands, and the snowy Boreal Regions. The update introduces an impressive addition of approximately 11 new Points of Interest (POIs) strategically placed throughout the map, giving players fresh and exciting locations to explore and engage with in their in-game adventures.

Trains

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 introduces an innovative and exciting element with the inclusion of trains. A standout feature is the "Capture the Train" objective, which provides players with an intriguing gameplay experience as they use the island's moving train to capture and eliminate enemies.

While engaged in direct combat, players can seamlessly navigate between different train cars, adding a layer of dynamism to the gameplay landscape. The train begins its journey from Reckless Railways' Points of Interest (POIs), making connections to other key locations on its way to the central hub of the map. This unique addition adds an exciting strategic element to the gameplay, allowing players to employ new tactics and increase the intensity of their in-game encounters.

Weapon Mods

Now, in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1, Mod Benches are scattered throughout the map in Vaults. Here, you can use bars to upgrade your favorite weapons. These mods offer various improvements, such as reducing recoil or increasing mag capacity. Keep in mind that not every mod is compatible with every weapon.

You won't be able to buy mod-compatible weapons directly from vending machines or characters. Instead, you'll need to acquire them as loot. Many of these weapons come with mods already applied. If you want to change them, head to the Mod Benches and Spend Bars to experiment with different mod combinations until you find one that suits your playstyle.

New Movement Mechanics

With the introduction of mantling in Chapter 4, it's no surprise that Epic Games is adding more moves to the new Fortnite season. Wall climbing is here, allowing players to run towards and climb walls and other structures.

Harding, which was removed in Chapter 4 Season 1, has also made a return to the game.

Brand-New Battle Pass

The new battle of the season brings Peter Griffin and Solid Snake to Fortnite. Peter has a beefy look and brings with him other items from the hit TV show. An Easter egg in the season launch trailer also confirms that we'll soon be seeing Fortnite x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

New Weapons & Consumables

It's not a new Fortnite season without new weapons. This season, we're getting the Grapple Blade, which works like a grapple by pulling players to their destination. The new item, however, brings with it a melee attack, where a nearby enemy is eliminated when you spin the blade.

We'll also see the addition of eight new weapons to the game, including a brand new Clisyter Clinger throwable explosive and ballistic shield.

A new consumable item called the "FlowBerry" has also been added to the game, which restores your shield and the shield of a nearby teammate.

Car Lockers & New Cars

In the new Fortnite season, your locker will now have an option to select cars. You'll be able to choose your car's decal, body, and wheels. If you're a Rocket League player, you'll be able to take your previously owned items, such as Cyclone, Octane, or Lamborghini Huracane STO car bodies, as well as some wheels and decals.

New Augments

Get Society Medallions by Taking Out Bosses.

You'll find five bosses on the map, each of which will drop a Society Medallion upon defeat. You can keep the medallion in your inventory to restore your shield over time. The more Society Medallions you collect, the more Shield you will regenerate each tick.

Match Quests & Reboot System

In the new Fortnite season, every Fortnite player will have three Match Quests to choose from at the start of each game, completely replacing the old Daily Quest system. These Match Quests will be different for everyone and will expire at the end of the match. You will also receive Bonus Goals, which will reset every day to reward you with more XP for completing Match Quests.

Additionally, the resurrection vehicles have a brand new feature where if you are resurrecting an ally and accidentally step out of range, the resurrection time will slowly decrease instead of completely resetting.
