In the fast-paced world of esports, where professional gamers compete for glory and substantial prize money, one rising star has recently made headlines. Khalid Alomar, known by his nickname Kalgamer710, has emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the Fortnite competitive scene. The talented player's remarkable performance at the FNCS Major 2 Finals has earned him a coveted spot in the upcoming FNCS Global Championship.

Kalgamer710's journey began in Khobar, Saudi Arabia, where he was born in July 2006. His passion for gaming was nurtured from a young age when his father presented him with his first PC and bestowed upon him the memorable nickname that would accompany him throughout his career. Although Kalgamer710 initially focused on mobile games and Minecraft, it was his introduction to Fortnite that would change the trajectory of his gaming journey.

During a visit to the United States, Kalgamer710's friend Timur introduced him to Fortnite. The game's early seasons didn't capture his interest due to his lack of skill and understanding of its mechanics. Frustrated by his inability to skydive properly, he left the game behind. However, his return to Fortnite in Chapter 1, Season 3 coincided with the game's growing popularity among his peers.

Kalgamer710's first taste of success came through an unconventional means. Leveraging his gaming prowess, he started carrying a wealthy friend through Fortnite challenges on multiple accounts, receiving payment in return. This initial experience motivated him to delve deeper into the competitive aspects of the game. While he had previously played casually, witnessing the unique and effective playstyle of European player Hen, who achieved success in both NA East and Europe, sparked Kalgamer710's curiosity.

Inspired by Hen's gameplay, Kalgamer710 adopted a more strategic approach to Fortnite. He began studying the game extensively, reviewing VODs, and immersing himself in the competitive scene. The result was his first significant achievement in the Fortnite Championship Series (FNCS) Solo All Stars, where he secured a remarkable top 16 placement in the fiercely competitive NA West region.

Kalgamer710's breakthrough at the FNCS Major 2 Finals marks a pivotal moment in his burgeoning esports career. With an exceptional display of skill, game sense, and composure under pressure, he outplayed some of the world's best Fortnite players to secure a spot in the highly anticipated FNCS Global Championship. This invitation-only event brings together top-tier players from around the globe to compete for fame and fortune.

As Kalgamer710 gears up for the FNCS Global Championship, he understands the immense challenge that lies ahead. The competition will be fierce, with the world's most skilled players vying for the ultimate victory. However, armed with his dedication, strategic mindset, and newfound passion for Fortnite, Kalgamer710 is poised to make his mark on the global stage.

The rise of Kalgamer710 serves as an inspiration to aspiring esports athletes worldwide. We have the chance to interview him today to gain insight into his journey, his preparation for the FNCS Global Championship, and his thoughts on the competitive Fortnite scene!

Andrea: "How do you balance your gaming career with other aspects of your life, such as education or personal relationships?"

Kal: "I divide my time during every Fortnite season into three sections. In the first section, I focus on the beginning of the season, where I learn about the current meta and engage in extensive study through VOD reviewing. The second section comes after I feel confident in understanding how to play the meta correctly, and I dedicate this time to grinding my aim and mechanics. Finally, in the last section, I review what I did at the beginning of the season while engaging in various types of gameplay, such as 1v1s, 2v2s, 3v3s, and 4v4s. This comprehensive approach ensures that I am fully prepared for the Grand Finals in terms of game sense and fighting skills. Although I would like to have more time to engage in all three activities every day, I still have two remaining years of high school and other hobbies that I believe will benefit me in the future."

Andrea: "How do you handle setbacks or losses in tournaments, and what steps do you take to bounce back and continue improving?"

Kal: "First, I like to assess whether I have prepared adequately or not. Then, I engage in VOD reviewing to analyze my gameplay and observe what top-placing players from all regions would do in the same situation. In summary, I view losses as valuable learning opportunities."

Andrea: "What are your thoughts on the current state of Fortnite as an esport, and do you have any suggestions for its future development?"

Kal: "I think if Fortnite continues to host LAN tournaments, introduce new metas, and game modes, the game should remain in a good state for a long time. However, I personally believe that they should provide much greater support to content creators. Without them, the game would likely experience a significant decline, although it may not completely die out as long as there is still money to be earned."

Andrea: "How important is teamwork and communication in competitive Fortnite, and do you prefer playing solo or as part of a team?"

Kal: "Teamwork and communication are among the most crucial aspects in competitive Fortnite. Without them, consistent placement is unlikely. Even if you pair up the two best players, it is not guaranteed that they will place in all the tournaments they participate in. Personally, I prefer playing as part of a team when I have skilled teammates who are passionate and determined to become the best, and actively put in the effort to achieve it. However, if I can't find anyone like that, I would definitely prefer playing solo."

Andrea: "Are there any other pro players or influencers in the Fortnite community who have had a significant impact on your gaming career?"

Kal: "Without a doubt, Hen, Chapix, and Janniz dominated Chapter 2, Season 5, and continued their winning streak in subsequent seasons. I was truly astounded by their ability to triumph in the most challenging region, effortlessly showcasing their skills. Their consistent performance was the most impressive aspect of their achievements."

Andrea: "What advice would you give to players who aspire to become professional Fortnite players but may be struggling to break into the competitive scene?"

Kal:"The best tip to become an IGL, an in-game leader who controls your placements rather than relying on someone else, is to prioritize studying the game. No matter how skilled of a fragger you are, if your IGL is having a bad day, your chances of placing well diminish. To become an IGL, you must invest time in studying, similar to how you would prepare for an exam. Additionally, it's crucial to work on your weak points. I often observe talented players who have weaknesses in either their game sense or fighting skills but are unwilling to make sacrifices in tournaments or dedicate time to becoming the best. Lastly, genuine grind is essential. What I consider "fake grind" is playing the game for 10 hours a day but only actively engaging for 2-3 hours. Many people engage in unproductive activities or take excessive breaks during a session, giving the illusion of extensive playtime despite minimal actual progress."

Andrea: "Can you share any memorable or exciting moments from your Fortnite journey thus far, whether it's a specific victory or a particularly challenging tournament?"

Kal: "I would have had many exciting moments, but in most of the Grand Finals I've played in, I ended up losing tiebreakers. However, I finally achieved victory in an FNCS Grand Final with my duo partner 7man, and honestly, I couldn't have wished for a better teammate to win with. I am truly grateful to God for this accomplishment."

Andrea: "Do you have any rituals or superstitions that you follow before or during competitions to help you stay focused and perform at your best?"

Kal: "During the week of tournaments, I make sure not to play creative maps. Instead, I dedicate 2-3 weeks prior to practicing them. As the crucial tournaments approach, my primary focus shifts towards engaging in numerous 1v1s, 2v2s, 3v3s, and even 4v4s. Within the tournament setting, one key element that helps me unleash my full potential under pressure is repeatedly affirming to myself, exclusively within the game, that "I am the best and unbeatable." Essentially, I cultivate a strong ego during tournaments alone."
