The storm has transformed into a terrifying wall of water as we await the launch of Fortnite Season 3.

Over 20 million people tuned in to watch “The Device” either in-game or via livestream. Many fans were left devastated when Epic Games announced that the event had reached capacity more than half an hour before it was scheduled to begin.

Despite the evident strain on the servers, players who did make it in were treated to another stunning visual display. The awesome effects were like a flashback to the Travis Scott: Astronomical show as Midas’ Doomsday Device was deployed.

In the wake of the event, The Agency has been left in ruins. However, more significant was the change to the storm. Rather than a purple circle closing in on players, a huge tidal wave now looms.

The water functions similarly to the storm, damaging anyone inside over time. You can swim, but not shoot or build. If you plan ahead though, you can build above the water. Those with a keen imagination have already realised the possibility for a sky bridge challenge.

With Season 3 coming on Wednesday, the question is will things stay this way. Some people theorise that this is just a temporary measure, and that come the new season this tall circle of water will drop down and flood the map.

We will just have to wait and see what happens, but it definitely looks like we are in for the craziest season of Fortnite Chapter 2.
