Learn to open Henchmen chests quickly!

An educational guide posted by RichHomieQuinn details how you can quickly open Henchman chests on the go!

Henchman chests were first released to Fortnite with the release of Chapter 2 Season 2, at the 5 new points of interest. To those unaware, the POI’s are:

• The Shark

• The Yacht

• The Agency

• The Grotto

• The Rig

Henchman chests come with buffed loot - two weapon spawns and healing items are guaranteed. Needless to say, you’ll want to get in on what the henchman chests are offering

To access the Henchman chests, you’ll have to have a proper identity. This means you must disguise yourself as that location’s Henchman through a telephone booth, or hold a knocked Henchman up to the chest to scan. Contrary to regular chests, breaking the floor will not spit out all of the contents, instead making the Henchman chest vanish

Despite the contingencies, there’s still one trick you can use to save a few seconds. Take a look at RichHomieQuinn as he explains a fool-proof method to skipping the “scanning” period of a few seconds

How to Open Henchmen Chest from r/FortniteCompetitive

If you’re unable to view the video for any reason, the gist is that you’ll need to have a weapon that needs reloading out while opening the chest. Right when you enter “scanning” mode, which takes around 5 seconds, hit your reload key. This should instantly cancel the scanning animation and spill the contents of the chest

This exploit also works when you’re holding a henchman… just make sure that you are holding out that unloaded weapon or else you’ll be waiting out the full 5 seconds!
