For the most part, Fortnite is dominated by cracked out 14 year olds sipping energy drinks and surviving on 2 hours of sleep. Sometimes though, experience comes in clutch. Here are 5 of the best boomers in the game.

This idea was inspired by a recent tweet from FaZe Sway asking fans to name the top 5 boomers in Fortnite. Just to clarify, these people obviously aren’t technically boomers and for the sake of this article a Fortnite boomer is anyone aged 23 of older.

5. Nickmercs

I simply couldn’t leave Nick “Nickmercs” Kolcheff out of this one. Aged 29, he is the oldest man on this list and a veteran of the Esports scene. Hailing from Gears of War, his pin-point accuracy and straight up slaying power have never faltered, even now that his tired old hands are barely strong enough to pick up the Scuf.

In Fortnite, Nick put controller players on the map, popping off in early events like the Summer and Fall Skirmish. From winning the first ever Friday Fortnite tournament to signing with FaZe Clan, he has gone from strength to strength, with the loyal MFAM proving again and again to be one of the best communities on Twitch.

4. Nate Hill

Another FaZe member next, we have model turned Twitch star Nate Hill. Despite being 25 years old, Fortnite is the first game where Nate has found major success, however he’s definitely not short on talent. Not only is he an elite gamer, but also an impressive singer, guitar player and god knows what else.

Nate’s breakthrough came after he and his duo Funkbomb took home first place at the Red Bull Rise Till Dawn tournament hosted by Ninja. From there, he gained a lot of traction in the Fortnite community, joined FaZe and quickly blew up. He and Funk have continued to perform at the highest level, qualifying for the World Cup Duo Finals and most recently placing 8th in the Squad FNCS Grand Finals with Ninja and Reverse2k.

3. 72hrs

I can’t think of anyone who doesn’t love Tom “72hrs” Mulligan. Another 25 year old, Tom started his streaming career playing Dead by Daylight, but exploded after switching over to Fortnite. After finding success in early tournaments, 72hrs was scouted by Cloakzy to become a member of the FaZe Fortnite roster. Later on, however, he decided it would be a better fit to join Team Liquid with his regular teammates Chap and Vivid.

Following his top tier placements early on, it was a shame that 72hrs was unable to qualify for the Fortnite World Cup in New York. Now though, he is getting back to form, recently finishing 6th in the FNCS Squads Grand Finals.

2. Chap

Aged 25, Team Liquid legend Ryan “Chap” Chaplo is a self-confessed boomer. For long term fans of competitive Fortnite, Chap will no doubt be one of the first pro players you ever heard of. His dominance in early events like the Summer Skirmish and Fall Skirmish cemented his name in the game’s history, but he’s not finished yet.

Following the disappointment of not making it to the World Cup, Chap has been back on the grind and picking up some solid placements. He took 2nd in the Trio FNCS Grand Finals and then 6th in Squads. Chap’s “Fortnite Rewind” video released at the end of Chapter 1 has amassed over 2 million views on YouTube and is a must-watch for any Fortnite fan.

1. Psalm

Here we are, the ultimate boomer! Harrison “Psalm” Chang turned 25 just a few days ago, tweeting “25 today. Holy it’s all downhill from here boys”. Psalm has a long history in Esports, competing at a high level in both Dota 2 and Heroes of the Storm. After quitting Dota to focus on his studies, his old team went on to win the World Championships, meaning he missed out on an insane amount of money.

Fortunately though, after deciding to take gaming more seriously again, Psalm made it to the Fortnite World Cup Solo Finals, clutching 2nd place and netting himself $1.8 million. Often overlooked as being one of the best in the game, perhaps due to playing on the NAW server, Psalm has been incredibly consistent throughout the history of competitive Fortnite.
