For a moment it looked like the Fortnite v11.50 patch was going to leave people disappointed, but Launch Pads are officially back!

In the Battle Royale Update blog posted by Epic Games, it was confirmed that Launch Pads have been unvaulted. However, for now at least, they will only be in non-competitive playlists. Whilst this is great news for casual players and will make normal public matches a lot more fun, this will be very concerning for competitive players.

The developers also announced that a new event will be revealed later today. This will quite possibly be the leaked Search and Destroy event, the challenges and title for this mode have now been renamed as the Love and War LTM.

It was also confirmed that as previously stated, the Chaos Physics system from the Unreal Engine has now been implemented. Epic say they want to “ensure that Fortnite still feels like what you would expect” at launch, but urge players to report any issues through the in-game reporting feature.

The issues and bugs addressed in the v11.50 patch are as follows:

  • Resolved an issue involving some players’ completion of the “Search chests in a single match” Chaos Rising Challenge not being saved.

  • The “Earn Gold Scavenger Medals” Rippley vs. Sludge Overtime Challenge now tracks progress properly.

  • The Sidegrading feature is no longer present in competitive playlists. Its presence in these playlists was unintentional, as noted in our v11.40 post.

  • Resolved an issue involving new players on consoles having difficulty matchmaking after first linking their Epic account.

  • Addressed reports of iOS players activating their device’s swipe-up feature when trying to press inventory buttons.
