With Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 2 on the horizon, a supposed leak from 4Chan hints at some possible map changes and maybe even an event at Steamy Stacks.
Since the beginning of Chapter 2, we have seen very few changes to the Fortnite map. Apart from the addition of some igloos for Christmas, the only minor differences are building works at one or two of the small huts around the island.
However, with everyone expecting big things from Season 2, a new rumour suggests that something may be about to go down at Steamy Stacks. Fortnite leaker “FireMonkey” took to Twitter to share the details of a 4Chan post he had been linked to.
Got DM'd this on Reddit. Apparently a 4Chan "leak" was posted around an hour ago, can't confirm the validity of it but it DOESN'T match the trailer cinematic at all, which makes me confused.

Feel free to look into it yourselves.
Again, this is NOT CONFIRMED. pic.twitter.com/aCSCFE4vRP
The images are blurry, but the purple tint and changes to the map seem to indicate some sort of incident at Steamy Stacks. It looks as though the Power Plant has had a leak and the purple liquid has begun to infect the surrounding areas.
People are also referencing the Season 1 trailer, which showed the water around Steamy Stacks as purple, even though this isn’t the case in game. If this leak is legitimate, then possibly this is Epic’s way of keeping the story of Kevin the Cube alive in Chapter 2.
There was so much purple in that 4chan "leak" and all I can think of is this scene from the trailer lol pic.twitter.com/aMkAW7wFa3

Don’t put too much faith into this news though, the Fortnite community have been quick to point out that it could well be fake. Firstly, people are wondering why the skins pictured are from Season 1. If this was a cinematic from Season 2 surely they would be using something from the new Battle Pass? Also, there is no text on the minimap, which suggests that the image wasn’t taken from the game.
Some people believe this could be part of an end of season event. This would make sense as this is usually the time that the developers implement these types of map changes. However, others say that they will be very disappointed if this is all Epic has planned for the start of Season 2. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
