New Zapper Trap Found in the Fortnite Game Files

A Fortnite leak has revealed what might be the next item coming to the game: The Zapper Trap.

It's no secret that Epic adds a new weapon or item to Fortnite with nearly every update. Each week brings us something new to try, which always seems to keep the game fresh - even if the item is overpowered or unusable.

With v10.20, data miner @Lucas7Yoshi uncovered a new trap that could be making its way into Fortnite - possibly for the second time.

We're talking about the Zapper Trap, which will look familiar to anyone who has played Fortnite Battle Royale since the beginning - or is a regular player of the Save the World mode.

If you're newer to Fortnite, you probably don't remember that the Zap Trap used to be a wall-only trap when Fortnite Battle Royale first came out. This was back in the days when you could only place the Spike Trap on the floor.

The model of the Zapper Trap looks different than the electricity trap of old. It seems like you'll be able to place this trap anywhere - not just on the wall.

We'll have to wait and see how well this trap performs when it's put into the game. It's fair to assume that the trap will have some sort of mechanic other than damage, though, which will set it apart from the existing Spike Trap.

My guess is that this trap will have a movement debuff attached. If you get hit by it, your movement will be slowed for a few seconds.

The trap fans out there should be excited about a new toy to play with. Let's hope this isn't the Poison Dart Trap all over again.
