New Leaks Point to the Return of Greasy Grove

New leaks point to a Rift Beacon on or near the ice above Greasy Grove. Could the popular POI be making a return?

Greasy Grove had always been one of the most popular POIs on the Fortnite map - that was until it was unceremoniously frozen when the snow biome was introduced.

A lot of players are growing tired of the snow biome at this point. Sure, Happy Hamlet and Frosty Flights have some decent loot, but they're on the outskirts of the map and the lack of mobility really puts them out of reach.

The destruction of Polar Peak opened the door for the return of Greasy Grove. There isn't much going on in that area of the map, and Greasy Grove was on the top of most lists of areas likely to return for Fortnite Season X.

Well, according to some data-mined information found in the game files, the frozen lake that covers Greasy is getting a Rift Beacon in the near future.

Before we get too excited, we have to remember what happened with the last Rift Beacon. A lot of people speculated that Moisty Mire would return when the Rift Beacon popped-up in that area.

Instead, we have Pandora with the Fortnite X Mayhem event. We've already seen some leaks that point to a possible It Chapter 2 crossover on the horizon, so it's possible the new Rift Beacon could open a portal to the next crossover.

Still, it seems like Epic has been subtly teasing a Greasy Grove return for a while, now. There are still chest spawns beneath the ice. Why would they be there if Epic never intended to bring Greasy back?

Whatever happens, we know that the ice rink above Greasy will be getting a Rift Beacon. Let's hope it's enough to melt the ice and bring back an old friend.
