Top Fortnite personality and Mixer streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins speaks out on gamer culture, kickstarts a globally trending Twitter conversation
Ninja is by far the biggest household name in all of Esports. When you think of Fortnite, which content creator pops into your mind first? My point exactly. That’s why, when someone of Ninja’s size makes a divisive comment, it’s almost guaranteed to spark and flame out of proportion
Yesterday, Ninja tweeted what was supposed to be considered a motivational comment. “The phrase ‘It’s just a game’ is such a weak mindset. You are ok with what happened, losing, imperfection of a craft. When you stop getting angry after losing, you’ve lost twice. There’s always something to learn, and always room for improvement, never settle.”

On the surface level, no big deal - right? He’s trying to invoke greatness out of his young audience through being passionate about progress. Unfortunately, not everyone saw eye to eye with the blue-haired pubstomper
People have taken caution to the approach Ninja has for “being passionate” about a game, specifically harping on the “getting angry part.” Some are correlating getting angry with “gamer rage”
Your younger audience is not going to understand the nuance here, and what you’re saying sounds like it justifies raging and other toxic behavior.

But Ninja makes it glaringly obvious that’s not the case. He simply wants people to strive for excellence and not get complacent in losing
Where in this tweet do I say punch a wall and smash a keyboard/rage? It's the way you perceived the message ??

Seems to me that Ninja’s heart is in a good place but the outer-world can’t take a healthy dose of reality. To push and become a better, more well rounded person/employee/player/etc. you MUST find a drive. This applies doubly during your failures and shortcomings
As of writing, “Ninja” is trending on Twitter, with over 200,000 tweets and counting
In reality, the only winner here is Ninja - who gets even more promotion for sending a wholehearted message. And us, for the free content and clickbait! Much love @Ninja, ty xoxo <3
