What could the new two-week event coming to Fortnite be?

A new two-week Fortnite event will be happening before the end of Season 1, and people are already starting to guess at what it might be.

In a recent blog post discussing the Chapter 2 – Season 2 start date and Fortnite’s transition to the Chaos physics engine, Epic Games also hinted that a “new two-week event” is coming before the season concludes. They didn’t give much more away, which of course has left fans to come up with their own predictions.

Some people think that it could refer to the leaked Search and Destroy Limited Time Mode. This could work in the same sort of way as the original Zone Wars LTM, where players have a couple of weeks to work through the special Search and Destroy challenges.

A tweet from the official Fortnite account replying “See you soon Harley” to a Warner Bros. Pictures post has others anticipating a Birds of Prey crossover event. The Warner Bros. tweet contained a video of cast members for the new movie including Margot Robbie who plays “Harley Quinn”. Fortnite have collaborated with filmmakers on multiple times in the past, normally involving new in-game items, skins, map changes etc.

The third leading theory is some kind of Valentines themed event. This could entail new cosmetics, the return of Cupid’s Crossbow or even a tournament similar to the previous “Share the Love” series we saw last year.

Whatever it is, this event will provide some much-needed content to players who have been feeling increasingly disheartened as of late. Further details will likely be revealed alongside the v11.50 patch which is expected in early February.
