The Fortnite developers have asked that leakers do not release any info about what may happen in order to make it a “truly one-of-a-kind spectacle”.

Risky Reels will soon play host to the first live in-game event of Fortnite Chapter 2, and it promises to be a big one! Last week posters began to appear around the map advertising an exclusive scene premiere from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Well the time has now come, grab your popcorn and get ready to enjoy.

To help ensure that Fortnite fans get the best experience possible, Epic have requested that no one leaks anything related to the event. Programmer and Epic Games Affiliate “Jaren” shared a message he had received from Epic “MagmaReef” on the matter.

The message politely asks that leakers don’t spoil the Star Wars event. It states that certain assets will be available a few hours before it begins, so not to share anything. He goes on to say that this is “something never done before in a video game” and took countless people an “enormous amount of hard work”. MagmaReef also mentions that they have no control over any legal action taken by Disney/Lucasfilm if any intellectual property was published ahead of schedule.

Many of the most popular and well-respected data miners and news accounts in the community including “Hypex”, “FireMonkey” and “Lucas7yoshi” have already promised not to leak anything. This is the first time that the developers have made a request like this so it is only fair that everyone honours it.

After the underwhelming announcement at the Game Awards 2019, Fortnite fans were left feeling like Epic had perhaps oversold the event. Hopefully, the fact that they have taken this extra measure is a sign that there is more to come than we are expecting. Catch you at the Reels!
