Since Fortnite downtime is in full swing, take a minute to catch up on this week’s patch notes!

As is standard for Chapter 2, Epic Games is still not posting patch notes on their official blog. Instead, they are addressing all bug fixes on their community trello board, while in-game changes must be discovered by the community

Below are the bug fixes posted directly from the aforementioned Trello board:

General

  • Safe Zone setting on Xbox One may return to 1.00 upon each login.

Battle Royale

  • Magma Wrap looks different than intended on the Bandage Bazooka and Pistol.

  • Some Twin Turntables items appearing grainy and pixelated.

  • Bandolette Outfit may appear to have two hairstyles merged together.

  • Some trees and metal fences in Arena not granting the correct material increase.

Creative

  • Empty chests can be spawned in Creative Mode with invisible collision

  • Unable to interact with Beacon Rift after landing on a player island

  • Quickbar: Some translucent props and devices do not generate proper icons

  • Most trucks from the 'Neo Tilted Car Gallery' are the same shade of blue

  • Billboards show default texture after pasting them and immediately closing the phone tool

Save the World

  • In-Zone Private Parties can not be joined by invitation.

Mobile

  • Social menu Friends List auto-scrolling to the top on mobile devices.

  • Mobile Tutorial playlist. (The Tutorial playlist on mobile devices will be re-enabled shortly.)

  • Quick Bar inadvertently defaulted off on mobile devices.

  • Both the "Spectate" and "Return to Lobby" options display "B" button on Nintendo Switch.

  • FPS drops and hitching on Mobile.

Although the bug fixes are not exactly entertaining, Fortnite leakers are having an absolute blast unpacking and decrypting the future weeks’ content

Wonderfully snowy map

In my opinion, this is one of the largest changes that will be enabled in the near future. Last year, the snowy map was met with a slew of criticism due to the fact that white reticles seemed invisible to the human eye. Given the fact that Epic doesn’t allow custom crosshairs, there really isn’t a solution on the user’s end. Hopefully Epic could address the problem this time around

Brand new holiday skins

The new skins are obviously festive as we head into peak holiday season. Some are cool - others are a little creepy. That third picture is giving me major chucky vibes; I definitely wouldn’t want to run up on one of those little rascals in a pub match. In addition to the festive skins, “snowout” player models are making an iterated return

These sleek skins are more stylish and competitive friendly - in my opinion. Regardless, this leak means that the item shop will be continually fresh for the coming months

New, potentially reskinned gun

Finally, it seems as though a new weapon will be added to the game. The “Blizzard Blitzer” is a semi-automatic rifle that will come in Epic and Legendary variants. Given that the headshot damages are 84 and 92 respectively, it’s quite likely that this is the reskinned AK-47 that was rumored to make a return. Let’s hope that it’s not just as OP as the last go-around
