Zimeo, a competitive player and now moderator on Fortnite’s competitive subreddit, defied all expectations in today’s dominating FNCS performance
Zimeo is an active contributor to the home of Reddit’s competitive Fortnite sub, r/FortniteCompetitive. Over the past year, he gained notoriety (and thousands of upvotes) through posting various clips and commentaries. Take this end game clutch, for example, where Zimeo was blessed by RNG gods by hitting a tree to save him from dying to fall damage. He would go on to win said game - for a truly a spicy clip
I didn't die from fall dmg because of jah from r/FortniteCompetitive
The guy is well respected, but what I find most interesting is the fact that dedicated community members have a first hand account of his substantial progress as time went on

Back when the World Cup qualifiers were taking place, he shared a respectable 119th place finish with the community. Although it was in the money, it paled in comparison to what pro players consistently pull off. The Fortnite Championship Series is where Zimeo really blossomed, as his team cracked the top 100 in week three of trios
Pretty proud of how our trio preformed :) from r/FortniteCompetitive
The 57th placement alongside other consistent performances would send Zimeo and company to the next stage of the tournament, a great feat in it of itself. 400 of the best players in NA-East would be battling it out for honor, glory, and that sweet, sweet bag. I was watching this unfold live, wholeheartedly expecting it to be the end of the road for Zimeo. It was a good run, but let’s face it - there are many pros competing for just a few spots in the finals
Despite my doubts, the team banded together in the heat stage to just barely sneak into the top 8 placement required to become a FNCS finalist
WE FUCKING QUALIFIED LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO from r/FortniteCompetitive
One point less would have put the trio out of contention; needless to say - this was a close call. They advanced regardless, and the community outpoured by the thousands to show support. ArcaneFN commented “Homegrown kid rising through the ranks.” I think that sums things up nicely; watching someone share their experience working their way up is wholesome indeed
At this point you’re probably wondering: what about the finals? We should probably skip over this part, because in six games they only managed to accrue a single point. It wasn’t a great showing by any stretch, but still some solid money in the bank regardless
Things pick back up today during FNCS heats. Zimeo’s squad managed to qualify for heats again after a solid qualifier stretch. But instead of struggling to qualify for the finals, Zimeo’s dominant performance made a statement: this team is elite
Qualified for grand finals again from r/FortniteCompetitive
That’s a second place finish, right behind the solo World Cup champion Bugha as well. It’s quite ironic since Bugha was talking mad smack to Zimeo earlier, telling him to “go back to moderating [the subreddit].” It makes the following clip of Zimeo dancing on Bugha’s corpse after eliminating him that much funnier

Although the Bugha shills came out to defend their almighty saviour, you have to admit that Bugha walked into that one. We caught up with Zimeo and asked about the situation, to which he responded by saying, "The only reason I danced was because Bugha and his squad talked sh*t to us during heat practice. It wasn’t meant to be toxic, but it does kind of bum me out to see so many pros talking crap."
Zimeo also took a second to reflect on how crazy the entire journey has been. "It feels kinda weird because - like I started as a random guy on Reddit but it's pretty awesome,” he noted. Wrapping things up, Zimeo acknowledged his progress and wants everyone to keep an eye on him for the finals. “We are going to get top 10, I believe in my squad,” he finished with
We will be watching from the sidelines, Zimeo. Good luck tomorrow, you have an entire community behind you
