In a recent leak, there is a strong reason to believe that duos will be the competitive gamemode following FNCS squads
Shortly after Donald Mustard (the worldwide creative director at Epic Games) was hacked, the invader tweeted some rather... interesting banter. After throwing some punches at Jarvis, Faze Clan professional who was recently permanently banned for aimbotting, he set his sights on competitive play
The tweet is deleted now (of course), but it said “Duos is coming back!” Now that’s not all too interesting, but the community is honing in on the replies. Geoff Keighley, producer at The Game Awards, replied questioning why Donald would leak private information on Twitter
Duo is coming back?!?!

Donald is Hacked
But Geoff isn’t, he has since deleted the reply! #Fortnite pic.twitter.com/gN2r58pOBX
Mustard and Keighley have now both deleted their respective tweets and have not commented further on the situation. The community on the other hand... Well they’re going absolutely bonkers at this new revelation. DestinyJesus, Fortnite coach for Faze Clan, believes this “100% confirms” that duos will be coming back after FNCS squads wraps up

Benjyfishy also took to Twitter shortly after the rumor was passed around, reaffirming that him and Mongraal would top the duo leaderboards
just letting everyone know that me and mongraal are gonna win every single duo event :)

The Game Awards is a live show taking place in Los Angeles, California to highlight top gamers, games, and the Esports scene as a whole. It will start on December 12th, 8:30PM ET. After Epic suddenly changed the season 11 end date from December 13th to February 2020, many people were already developing suspicions. Last year, Fortnite announced “The Block” at The Game Awards, which proves that there is, at minimum, an existing relationship between the companies
This Twitter fiasco is only adding fuel to the fire. Any breadcrumbs are being gobbled up, with no end in sight. I guess we'll just have to wait and let the cookie crumble
