The 200IQ Fortnite star has had enough of people saying he fell off, whilst other players get all the praise.
Martin “MrSavage” Foss Andersen is a pro for NRG Esports, well known for being one of the most intelligent players in the game, and always thinking ten steps ahead of his enemies. Once considered by many to be the best talent in EU, he hasn’t received the same attention recently with the likes of Kyle “Mongraal” Jackson and Benjy “Benjyfishy” Fish taking the spotlight.
During a recent Twitch stream, MrSavage’s current FNCS teammate Kevin “Tohaj” Batic’s was discussing Solo Cash Cups. MrSavage commented to suggest that he was perhaps being unjustly criticised by the Fortnite community at the moment. He explained that even though he is outperforming Mongraal in Solos, he is considered “washed” whilst people still think that Mongraal is “the best player in the world”. It’s important to understand that this wasn’t by any means an attack on Mongraal. MrSavage was simply using an example to show that he is underrated. Both players have had solid placements in the recent Solo Cash Cups, with the best finish being from MrSavage, who took second in the week 3 Platform Cup. Unfortunately, MrSavage hasn’t been able to match the success of Mongraal’s squad in the Fortnite Champion Series this season.
Some people felt that there may be bad blood between the two EU titans, but I don’t think that’s the case. MrSavage used to Duo with Benjyfishy for the Fortnite World Cup, where they placed 14th in the Duo Finals. Mongraal and Benjyfishy have now announced that they will team up for any upcoming Duo events, but this doesn’t mean there have been any falling outs. MrSavage is a clever guy, and understands that people are going to move around and try playing with different teammates. He has also already revealed his future Duo, Misfits Gaming’s Endre “Endretta”.
I will be playing with @Endretta for all future duo events

Many members of the Fortnite community argue that Mongraal is only more popular as he has a bigger personality. This totally makes sense, in a game like Fortnite where fans spend hours glued to their favorite players stream, of course they want to be entertained. This doesn’t necessarily make the more engaging streamers the better players, but obviously people are going to cheer for the players they love to watch. MrSavage is definitely calmer and more calculated, which is by no means a bad thing. Hopefully, Fortnite Chapter 2 will provide plenty of Solo and Duo competition and give him the chance to have a resurgence.
