In tight situations where you have a bad landing or are desperate for loot, having a better knowledge of the map can give you the upper hand.

We are over a month deep into Fortnite Chapter 2 now, and players are starting to learn the layout of the island and pick their favorite drop spots. If you land at one of the OG places like Pleasant Park or Salty Springs, you may well know every inch like the back of your hand, but if you land somewhere new then this might not be the case.

Sometimes you find yourself low on loot, but it seems like your enemies have already cleared out every inch of your POI. Luckily, there are still a few chest spawns that regularly get ignored, either because people don’t know about them, or simply forget. Don’t worry, these chests aren’t in the middle of nowhere, each one is at one of the new locations on the Fortnite map.

Sweaty Sands

This one is awesome as it hardly ever gets touched. Head out to the beach area of Sweaty Sands and go towards the yellow lifeguard’s hut. You will have to do some searching as this spawn moves slightly every match. Look for a little mound in the sand, and once you find it, start to hit it with your pickaxe. After a few swings, a chest will emerge from the ground, keep digging until it is all the way out and then you will be able to open it.

Lazy Lake

Lazy Lake is one of the most highly contested drop spots in Fortnite Chapter 2. Therefore, it makes sense that occasionally you will find yourself strapped for loot. Fortunately, there’s a chest here that is easy to get to and normally gets overlooked. Go to the Lazy Lake Spa building in the South West corner of the town. Out back is a swimming pool, the chest sits right in the middle, hidden below the water.

Holly Hedges

This one is nice and simple. Go towards the blue house at the far West end of Holly Hedges. Just outside to the North sit a campfire and a tent. Don’t crack out the s’mores just yet thought! Break the tent for a free chest. This spawn is just far enough from the house that people who loot the building often don’t hear it and leave it behind.

Frenzy Farm

Unlike Chapter 1’s Fatal Fields, Frenzy Farm is a very busy landing spot. Ali “SypherPK” Hassan even labelled it “the new Tilted Towers”. This means if you love action it’s the place to go, and can get you off to a great start for a high kill game. The problem is, with all these enemies, the loot gets spread pretty thin. If you are in a pinch, head to the little cave area towards the East of the farm for a chest that doesn’t get much love.

Dirty Docks

Finally, if you land at Dirty Docks, here’s one for you. There is a chest hidden behind a garbage bin next to the wall, right in the North East corner by the blue warehouse. From most angles you don’t see the chest, so it’s always worth a check. There are also a couple of other chest spawns if you drop down from the Docks and search the shoreline.
