The Fortnite World Cup Champion has added to his trophy collection after a successful evening at the prestigious industry award show.
On Saturday night, the Esports Stadium Arlington played host to the Esports Awards 2019. Leading Esports figures from around the globe gathered in Texas for the event, including players, organisations and business owners.
Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf was one of the youngest people in attendance, but that didn’t stop him from taking home two massive awards.

The first category that Bugha won was “Esports PC Rookie of the Year”. He edged out young Counter-Strike god Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut for the top spot. Fortnite World Cup Duo Champions Emil “Nyhrox” Bergquist Pedersen and David “Aqua” Wang were also finalists, with Nyhrox pinching third place. It’s fantastic to see the competitive Fortnite community have such a strong representation amongst so many established Esports titles.

Even more impressively, Bugha also picked up the title of “Esports PC Player of the Year”. This award holds a lot more weight, his fellow nominees were some of the most elite talents in Esports. This time around, it was Croatian League of Legends star Luka “Perkz” Perkovic who came second.

After the ceremony had concluded, Bugha took to Twitter to thank everyone for the support. Winners were decided by a combination of a panel of Esports industry heavyweights and a public vote. The fact that Bugha managed to secure two awards demonstrates the true strength and passion of the Fortnite community, which is great to see. There’s bound to be plenty more opportunities to compete in the Battle Royale over the next year, who knows, maybe you could be at the Esports Awards 2020.
