After she left a bread crumb trail on Twitter, the official announcement just came in

As reported earlier, Ewok was expected to announce the move to Mixer very soon. Just how soon - that wasn’t clear. Now it’s glaringly obvious that the young savant is wasting no time in making money moves at record pace

Ewok is the first deaf female Twitch partner and only girl in Faze Clan. The kicker? She’s only 14 years old. But today she hands in her partner badge and ventures on a new journey, live streaming exclusively on Microsoft’s Mixer

The mysterious 30 second Twitter clip that sparked massive speculation finally shows what Ewok was trying to paint all along: Mixer’s iconic X logo

Ninja was the first notable creator to leave Twitch to venture greener pasture. He was by far the largest content creator on Twitch, boasting almost 15 million followers before deciding to leave the platform. For comparison, the second largest streamer had just over 7 million followers at the time. But don’t worry, Mixer brought #2 in as well (Shroud)

Ninja is cheerleading the move, for obvious reasons. After plugging her new streaming destination (Mixer.com/Ewok), Ewok reveals that she will be offering her fans a free one month subscription to her channel

Mixer crafted the same “free sub” deal with Ninja, Shroud, and Goth after they departed from Twitch to join the Microsoft family. Stimulating the channel with a free month-long subscription and some extra revenue to boot is surely a genius marketing strategy. Ewok is (very deservingly) getting the same elite treatment as her new platform peers

Ewok must have secured the bag with this deal. Regardless of what Mixer paid for an exclusive multi-year contract, I have a sneaking suspicion that those free subscriptions will add up quickly. Both Ninja and Shroud made hundreds of thousands, if not millions in the first month alone due to the promotion. All a fan has to do is click a button (at no cost), and his or her favorite content creator banks a few dollars. Needless to say, Ewok is taking a one way trip to the gravy train

The other big winners here are Mixer streamers, specifically established ones. As the livestreaming war continue, Mixer is further cementing themselves as a competitor. At the moment, Twitch has the lead. But if Mixer continues the trend of pulling Twitch’s main talent, it’s going to get a whole lot more interesting in the coming months
