Bugha popularized the elevated side jump for quicker highground retakes. Here’s how you can do it correctly every time

Text Guide
Bugha’s side jump takes advantage of strategically placing your character closer to the cone and successfully placing a stair below yourself. Getting as close to the cone as possible makes sense if you consider that when you place the stair, the bottom (aka the side that you would need to land on) would be connected to the cone
The secret lies in the takeoff. Start towards the middle of the staircase and run diagonally
Doing this will build momentum to get a high enough jump. Once you are close to the edge of the staircase and ready to make your jump, instantly flick your view model forward
Moving your view model straight forward right before jumping means your character’s momentum will go in that direction and not outwards. An outward momentum would almost always land you under the stair, the exact opposite of what we are trying to achieve
Once you can “flick” forward right before jumping consistently, everything else is exactly the same as doing a regular side jump… only now add a stair placement into the mix after placing the floor. If you’re having difficulty keeping up, take a look at this visual tutorial
