He begins with an apology to his loyal fans for the extended leave and simultaneously opens up about his grandmother’s long fight with breast cancer. The roller coaster of emotions left Hamlinz mentally exhausted and unable to produce the same fun-loving content that made him a Twitch staple in the first place
The news comes amid a frenzy of content creators taking “mental health breaks.” A common denominator can be seen between all cases: high expectations to create consistent content. Often enough, it will fester on top of personal issues and lead to a tipping point. This isn't uncommon, as creators of all sizes are susceptible to the phenomena. Yes, even the largest of the bunch… Think back to the Pewdiepies and Lilly Singhs of the world, who both took extended breaks over the past few years
... And now add Fortnite creators to the list. Despite this, Hamlinz offers a ray of positivity, addressing how a mental health break has allowed him to “sit down with his thoughts” and give him the space to hit a metaphorical reset button. His first broadcast back begins tomorrow at 8PM (EST), make sure to tune in and welcome him back
