In a recent blog post, Epic Games details basic philosophies and adjustments for Chapter 2’s squad FNCS format
Earlier today, Fortnite’s official competitive Twitter Page @FNCompetitive broke the silence through a Tweet and attached blog post.

Check out info about the #FortniteChampionSeries and what's new for Chapter 2 in our blog: https://t.co/Iecu3Z391A
The blog starts out with what most of us already knew: arena points were reset and you need Champion Division to play in the FNCS circuit. The series will be using a carbon copy of the three stage structure we saw last season.
For Chapter 2, Epic has decided to condense the five week open stage to four - meaning less opportunities to qualify and make additional cash. November 1st will be the first week of FNCS and it will run until the month's end. There is no tournament scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend. The heats and finals will take place between December 6 - 8th where a new set of champions will be crowned.
Last season, FNCS allowed for roster changes if both affected teams consented. Under the new rule structure, you will no longer be able to make any swaps. Qualifying for the heats will automatically lock you in with the team you qualified with.
Players were also quick to pick up on the fact that this season’s $5 million cumulative prize pools is a massive cut from Season X’s $10 million mark. Is this an indication of Fortnite’s decline in popularity - or simply a shift away from glamorous prize pools?
Last fcs was 10mil for prizing I think. Now it’s only 5mil cash cups included..
