The long-running Fortnite Mini Shield Bug has gotten worse with this patch, and Epic has responded to the backlash.

Unfortunately, Fortnite has always been a bug-friendly game. Epic makes so many updates to their game that some things almost always fall through the cracks.

Some of the OG Fortnite players likely remember the old days when everything in the game seemed to just work. Of course, that was before Epic dedicated the team to weekly content updates, new weapons, and new items.

The Mini Shield bug has been in the game for a while. This bug places you at 49 shields instead of 50.

With previous patches, this bug was somewhat limited. You couldn't drink any more minis once you hit 49 shields, so you wouldn't be wasting anyone.

Unfortunately, Epic buffed this bug when they released the Season 10 patch. Now, you can drink an entire stack of minis without reaching 50 shields.

Here's a clip of ShypherPK showcasing how the bug has gotten worse over time.

EpicEricSW commented on the Reddit post, saying, "Thanks for the report - obviously this wasn't intentional. Will see about quickly turning around a fix for this."

The problem with minis originally seemed to be visual - though I'm not 100% sure about this. To the best of my knowledge, the game should still act as though you have 150 HP even though it's only showing 149.

If this is the case, all Epic has to do is fix the bug that allows you to drink all of your shields without getting that extra 1. At the very least, Epic is actively responding to bug reports.

Since the next patch will be coming tomorrow, we shouldn't expect a fix for this bug for at least a week or two.
