Are you getting the post-World Cup competitive itch? Watch Friday Fortnite tonight hosted by UMG Gaming.

Friday Fortnite was a staple of early competitive Fortnite. It remains a hallmark in the Fortnite scene and continues to chug along after the Tfue/FaZe situation sparked its rebirth.

Here is all of the information you need on the teams, the rules, and how to watch.

Watching Friday Fortnite

Watch live video from UMGEvents on

Friday Fortnite starts at 5:00 PM EST this evening and runs until we have a winner. From watching previous weeks, you can expect the event to last four to five hours at least, which is fantastic if you're fully invested in the pub-stomping gameplay.

You can watch the cast from the official UMG stream we've embedded above, or watch the channel of any player who is participating.

Remember, these players are using a two-minute delay, so there won't be much in the way of chat interaction throughout the event.

If you're someone who loves to hear the shout-out when you subscribe or donate, I'd recommend waiting until tomorrow.

The Teams

enter image description here

This week's tournament is just as stacked as many of the other weeks we've seen. We have several returning champions and regular teams like SypherPK & NickMercs and MrSavageM & BenjyFishy.

The pub-stomping format means all of these games are up for grabs. Sure, we may have some World Cup qualifying players in here, but even people at this skill level can get unlucky.

This is a double-elimination tournament, which means teams who lose will fight their way through the loser's bracket to reach the final game.

In the finals, if the team from the loser's bracket wins the first match against the team from the winner's bracket, one more match will be played. If the team without a loss wins in the finals, the event is over.

Here are the rules - taken from the official UMG Gaming website:

How It Works:

  • Once the tournament begins, players will setup a SQUADS lobby and invite their opponent.

  • The higher seeded team (closest to zero) will host first. Hosting will then alternate until the match is complete.

  • Matches will be Best of 2, most kills advance to the next round.

  • The higher seeded team (number closest to zero), will host the first match. Host will then switch, alternating for every game played.

  • Teams must host from their geographical location. Example, if you reside in North America, you cannot choose EU servers.

  • Teaming is allowed. however, players cannot directly cause the death of their opponents.

  • All rulings are final and will be made at the discretion of UMG Staff.

Examples of sabotage include but are not limited to:

  • Breaking or weakening opponent's built or non built structures or cover by any means.

  • Causing opponents to miss shots or miss opportunities for advancing their scores in any way shape or form.

  • Building in front of your opponent.

  • Boogie Bombing your opponent.

  • The use of a boogie bomb on your opponent at any point in the game are subject to disqualification

Respawn Vans & Player Cards:

  • Players can use the respawn vans! If they do not have their teammates revive card they cannot use the respawn van. - In the event of a persons player card being glitched into the map, the opposing team will have to determine if they wish to replay the map or not when it occurs. If a teams opponent does not wish to replay, the match results will stand.
