Epic is Working on an Official 1v1 Mode in Fortnite

Many players consider 1v1s in Fortnite to be the ultimate test of skill - at least in the building department. Apparently, Epic is working on an official 1v1 map for players.

There are a ton of ways to enjoy Fortnite. You can play the base Battle Royale game, LTMS, or head to Creative to death runs, races, deathmatches, Snipers vs. Runners, Storm Wars, Prop Hunt, or 1v1 a friend.

Epic has done a lot to make their game enjoyable for everyone, and a lot of competitive players have been favoring Creative Modes like 1v1 arenas and Storm Wars over the base game at times.

Fans have been clamoring for a 1v1, 2v2, and even 4v4 LTM for a long time now, and Epic has heard our cries.

Epic confirmed a 1v1 "Duel" mode, this was in a creative AMA that took place almost a month ago and it went under the radar from r/FortniteCompetitive

This post from the Competitive Fortnite subreddit is two months old now, but I missed it when it was originally circulated. My guess is that many of you did as well - as you can still see the FortniteBR and Competitive Fortnite subreddits littered with requests for an official 1v1 mode.

I heard about Epic's plans to create an official 1v1 mode for the first time today through a tweet from @Hypex.

Just a reminder that Epic is working on an LTM that lets you 1v1 someone and winners gets to stay with 200hp and same loot (how is the loot gonna be picked/chosed? which map are they gonna use?) idk, we will have to wait.. i can't find the reddit post to prove, but it's 100% real

Whether the supporting details are true or not, it's clear that Epic is working on a 1v1 mode for players.

This will likely take place in Creative and outside the traditional Fortnite map. An official 1v1 arena would be fantastic - assuming it would update with each patch to include the new weapons.

Pretty much every player in Fortnite has their own 1v1 arena, but it's annoying to update it every time a gun gets added and removed. My map has the Suppressed SMG from before they vaulted and subsequently unvaulted it.
