14 Days of Summer Day 1 Unvaulting: LMG Back in Fortnite

14 Days of Summer kicked off today with a list of new challenges to complete. Each day, an old weapon will come back to Fortnite for players to use. On day one, that gun is the LMG.

The first content update for v9.30 is here. It brought with it a content update that brought some of the fan-favorite weapons in the Pump Shotgun and Suppressed SMG back into the game.

The update also brought us the 14 Days of Summer Event, which includes some new challenges as well as an unvaulting feature.

This feature introduces a previously-vaulted weapon back into Fortnite. Today, the first day of the event, brought back the LMG for June 25 only.

Apart from the Minigun, the LMG has been the most powerful weapon in Fortnite when it comes to spraying-down opponent structures. It was vaulted almost a year ago, and it's nice to see its return to Fortnite - even if it's only for a day.

This was the weapon Ninja used to almost beat Tfue and Cloak single-handedly last summer during the Fortnite Friday event.

The gun takes medium ammo with a fast fire rate of eight rounds per second. Here are some other noteworthy stats on the returning LMG:

• Damage: 25
• Magazine Size: 100
• Reload Time: 5 seconds

The LMG is best for spraying structures and suppressing opponents. It has a very wide spread, so you won't be shooting many players at a distance with this weapon.

Apart from build shredding, this weapon is far from the most effective in Fortnite. It's fun to use, but the Drum Gun and Minigun make it difficult to choose the LMG over similar weapons. Even a traditional AR offers more versatility.

The LMG will only be in Fortnite for a day, though, so you don't have to pick it up if you don't like it.
